Josh is the Son of Mark Collins.  Josh is a student at Devall Middle School in Port Allen, LA and his teacher is Mrs. R. Spillman.  

Recently Josh accompanied Bracket Masters Racing Team on a trip to Memphis, TN.  The trip had been earned by improving his grades at his school.  Mr. Willie Beathley discovered that Josh had not been doing very well in school, especially Conduct.  Mr. Beathley wanted to see Josh improve in all his subjects, but decided Conduct was the key.  Mr. Beathley gave Josh the following challenge.  If Josh would improve his Conduct grade for three grading periods (weeks) he would take Josh on the trip to Memphis with the racing team.  He would also give Josh $25.00 spending money for the trip.  Josh also had to have a letter from his teacher supporting his efforts.  

Mrs. Spillman wrote to Mr. Beathley that Joshua's conduct has been extremely good in the last few weeks.  In the three weeks before the trip Joshua had weekly Conduct grades of 100%, 100% and 90%!  She said his attitude and work habits have improved.  Mrs. Spillman thanked Mr. Beathley for placing a strong emphasis on education and conduct.  She wished the team and Joshua a safe trip to Memphis.

Josh enjoyed his trip to Memphis, TN with his family, relatives and the Bracket Masters Racing Team.  Mr. Beathley hopes this is just the start of continuous improvement for Josh in all his studies.

6/22/02 - Josh attended the BMRT Annual Picnic at State Capitol Dragway.  During a rain delay he got to drive down the track with Mr. Harry Sills of Bracket Masters Racing Team to locate all the turnoffs.  This will come in handy when Josh starts to drive the Jr. Dragster.  

9/30/02 - Josh attends Bracket Masters meetings regularly with John and Stephanie Collins. He has qualified to drive the Bracket Masters Jr. Dragster by obtaining his NHRA Jr. Dragster Drivers License. 

December 2002 - Benny's Automotive 9252 Mammoth Av. Baton Rouge, LA 70814 (225) 925-9051.  Benny Smith, 2001 Sponsor of Louisiana Drag Classic Jr. Dragster Class, has donated a full set of safety equipment to Josh Collins for use while competing in the Bracket Masters Jr. Dragster.  The beautiful outfit has Josh's name embroidered on the front of the jacket and Benny's Automotive Logo on the back.  Thanks to Benny's for the donation and continued support over the past three years.  Your efforts are truly appreciated.
